Enlisted as a Private, retired as a Major. Twenty-three years in the Army, ten of them as a JAG, and now representing the community he came from.

The best teams are built by choice.
Jimmy and Mary first met while serving in the 82d Airborne Division. Mary was at the start of her military career. Jimmy was already a seasoned leader with more than sixteen years in uniform, both enlisted and as an officer, and numerous deployments behind him. What they discovered, despite the difference in experience, was a shared approach to the practice of law: understanding the rules well enough to advocate creatively within them.
What left the greatest impression on Mary, though, had nothing to do with legal strategy. As Chief of Legal Assistance, Jimmy posted his cell phone number to the office door so soldiers could reach him after hours. It was a small gesture, but it reflected a core philosophy: when people need you, you show up.
Eventually, Jimmy and Mary realized they didn’t need the Army to assign them to work together. They could choose to. They founded MJ Law Group to keep serving the community they spent years working alongside.
Service brought us together. Purpose is what keeps us here.
